deconstruction central

We haven't had much time to post lately. The last phase of our remodeling work is in progress. This is kitchen time. The scope of the kitchen project is replace the drop ceiling and replace the vinyl floor tiles we have. The drop ceiling has been removed and it is in the middle of dry wall process- put up new board, tape seams, etc... next is the texturing process.Consequently, the house has been a disorganized mess and a bit dusty too.
The flooring is supposed to happen next week- we are replacing the vinyl tile with sheet linoleum (also environmentally friendly material). On a whim I also decided to buy a new dishwasher, so all of our appliances are new since we moved in now (stove, fridge, and washer/dryer were already done).

Here is new ceiling at the moment

And below is sub floor they put in over vinyl tile (you can't easily rip out due to asbestos concerns)

Today has been perfect weather, sunny and 60. Not to let the good weather deter us from our plans, Sarah and Jack went to a baby shower this morning and is now bowling. Audrey and I went for a coffee snack, then to a train show and we are now watching cartoons. No one in the family is out enjoying this great weather, but the day isn't over yet.

Below are some picture from train show ( a bit blurry, cell phones don't make the best cameras...)

anyways, we hope that kitchen is completely done next week and we will post pictures of the final product. I will also add pictures of the rest of the projects we did - deck, stairs, etc...

thats all for now

Rob

Our family is all about the ripping out of the kitchens this week. We ripped out an entire wall in my parents' house last night. Glorious.
